Beats Fest
Brand Guidelines
Role
UX Designer
Project Overview
Beats Fest is a cloud-based music-streaming service created for Gen Z and Millennial listeners. The brand needed a bold, energetic identity that reflected its mission: delivering diverse and high-quality music through a fun, casual, and professional platform. My role was to design a complete visual identity system that aligned with their values, tone of voice, and fast-growing audience.
My Role: UX/UI Designer, Visual Designer
Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma
Timeline: 4 Weeks
Challenge
Beats Fest had a clear personality (“serious but informal”) and a strong target demographic—young adults who enjoy vibrant digital experiences. However, the brand lacked:
A cohesive visual identity
Clear guidelines for typography, color, and layouts
Consistent branding across print and web
A look and feel that truly reflected the energy of their audience
The challenge was to build an identity that communicated excitement, youthfulness, and modernity without losing clarity or professionalism.
Solution
To create a system that matched both the audience and the mission, I approached the project through a structured design process:
1. Research & Discovery
I analyzed the company’s mission, voice, and target demographics (primarily Gen Z and Millennials). I reviewed popular music and entertainment brands to identify trends in color, typography, and visual style. This helped guide decisions that would feel culturally relevant and appealing to younger users.
2. Concept Exploration
I explored themes like rhythm, movement, and electronic music culture. Neon and saturated colors were chosen because they resonate strongly with the target demographic and communicate energy and excitement.
3. Brand Identity Development
I built a full identity system that included:
- Modern logo with spacing, color, and usage rules
- Vibrant neon color palette tailored for digital-first branding.
- Typography system using Neuropol X and Montserrat
- Layout grids for print + digital
- Mockups of business cards, envelopes, letterhead, and web layouts.
- Clear do’s and don’ts for consistent future use
Throughout the process, I prioritized readability, accessibility, and visual hierarchy to ensure the brand remained functional and user-friendly across all platforms.
Outcome
The final identity is bold, modern, and well-suited for Gen Z and Millennial music lovers. It communicates excitement while maintaining a clean, professional structure.
Key Outcomes:
A cohesive brand system that can scale across web, print, and app interfaces
A clear, easy-to-follow guidelines document for future designers and developers
A visual style that resonates strongly with a young, digital-native audience
Stronger brand recognition and personality to support marketing and product design
This project strengthened my skills in system thinking, branding, and applying UX principles to visual identity work.
Brand Identity Design
This project was all about capturing the energy of a modern music festival through strong visual branding. I used bright neon colors, bold typography, and geometric shapes to appeal to a younger, digital audience. The design balances creativity and clarity while maintaining brand consistency. After reviewing, I adjusted contrast and spacing for better readability, keeping the identity visually exciting but accessible for both digital and print formats.
